The Association of European Capitals and Cities of Sport (ACES), has designated Jaraíz de la Vera as European City of Sport for 2026, in recognition of its sports facilities, inclusive programs and sporting events that promote participation among all ages and skill levels.
The Jury thus recognises the commitment and dedication to promoting sport and healthy living that Jaraíz de la Vera fosters among its residents, who were represented on Monday evening by local clubs and associations at the municipal sports centre where the announcement of Jaraíz de la Vera as European City of Sport 2026 took place.
