The photographic exhibition, which invites reflection on the sun as a symbol of time, life and history, is being held in the place where the images were captured: the Monastery of Yuste

After its stay at the Royal Collections Gallery in Madrid, the work now arrives at the place where it was conceived, the former final resting place of Emperor Charles V.

Las Horas del Sol (The Hours of the Sun) is the title of the work by Bleda y Rosa (María Bleda and José María Rosa), winners of the 2008 National Photography Award. The exhibition, which will be on display until 27 October, will be displayed in various rooms of the monastery with the aim of inviting visitors to rediscover it through a contemporary lens that highlights the interaction between historical elements, living nature and the sun.

In the opening ceremony, the authors explained that the project “draws an analogy between the solar cycle and the life cycle of nature and humankind, evoking a time where the sun was a guide, a measure and a symbol. It marked the hours, the day, the night, the seasons and the passing of time”.
